History
Maritime traffic in Fagervik Bay.
Petter Forström, CEO of the Lohja limestone factory – known as “Kalkki-Petteri” – dreams of the company having its own port.
Petter went on a reconnaissance expedition together with his brother engineer Fredrik, landowner Hugo Hildén and maritime pilot Gustaf Westerholm – A conversation took place in which the pilotage man asked “Why don’t we go to Fagervik Bay?”. Kalkki-Petteri, in turn, had wondered “if there is enough water there”, to which Westerholm had replied “there most certainly is”. This is said to be the moment when the harbour site was chosen.
